Looking for and finding solutions is in our DNA. Through constant innovation, Pop-Up Toilet Company has the most advanced public toilets in the world. Sustainability, corporate social responsibility and the total unburdening of both client and user are paramount.
History: How it all began
Pop-Up Toilet Company has a history that goes way back. We have been designing, producing and installing (public) sanitary facilities since 1989. From the very beginning, we have built all the toilet units ourselves and the company has expanded over the years. In 1999 Marco Schimmel, director of Pop-Up Toilet Company, was approached to produce a sanitary solution to combat urinating in public. Being as inspired as he is, Marco launched a trendsetting product that had never been developed previously: the UriLift. This urinal is retractable; an innovative and sustainable solution for diverse locations throughout Europe. Marco scored high with this revolutionary product.
A series of developments followed; in 2003 the first retractable self-cleaning toilet was developed and this was followed in 2009 by the UriLift Single: a retractable urinal with an installation depth of only 50 cm. In 2016, the first combined urinal for women and men was launched. This was followed, shortly afterwards, by the Pop-Up Events temporary toilets; also revolutionary because the toilets and hand wash are retractable. In 2020, a new first was added: the world’s first retractable toilet for the disabled.
Marco Schimmel is still the driving force behind Pop-Up Toilet Company’s present-day success. With both feet on the ground but with his head in the clouds, he thinks further and dares to realise products that were previously only dreamt of. Together with his team of specialists, all products are produced in-house.
Our products are the next level when it comes to public sanitation. So much is possible! By continuing to develop, we are able to do business in a sustainable way and to relieve our clients of all their worries. We sit down with the customer, from the advice phase until installation. One on one. Contact, environment, innovation… That’s Pop-Up Toilet Company.’
