Hazeldonk, one of the busiest border crossings between the Netherlands and Belgium, receives a massive flow of freight traffic from various European countries on a daily basis. Many of these truck drivers cross the border and spend the night at the nearby free public parking lot in the Hazeldonk industrial area. Unfortunately, essential facilities such as a public toilet were lacking, causing inconvenience to businesses in the industrial area.
Pop-Up Toilet Company sets the standard for truck parking facilities: Clean, safe, and user-friendly!
To improve the livability of the parking lot and reduce the disturbance to surrounding businesses, Logistiek Center Hazeldonk-Meer and the Municipality of Breda joined forces. They quickly agreed that a self-cleaning toilet meeting the highest requirements and quality standards was needed. Pop-Up Toilet Company was engaged to provide advice on self-cleaning toilets. We worked closely with both parties and even held discussions with drivers at the location to better understand their needs.
Based on our expertise and research, we proposed the 5STAR self-cleaning toilet. Considering the Municipality of Breda’s previous experience with another European supplier of self-cleaning toilets, which involved frequent cleaning interventions and vandalism issues, they decided to conduct a one-year pilot project to test the technology and quality specifically with this user group. After receiving numerous positive responses from drivers, surrounding businesses, and thousands of satisfied visitors, the pilot project was successfully concluded, and the 5STAR self-cleaning toilet became the permanent solution for this public truck parking facility.
