One of the objectives of the City of Utrecht is for the city to be accessible, for both residents and visitors to the home of the famous Dom cathedral. Providing sufficient public toilets is part of this accessibility. The goal is a public toilet every 250 metres, a noble endeavour!
Adequate public sanitation as part of an accessible city
In the first project phase, various UriLifts were installed (see: UriLift Utrecht). Then work began on installing accessible public toilets in the parks in Utrecht. Every detail has been considered; the design, location, and installation of the unit. The Pop-Up Toilet Company turned out to be the perfect partner for this engaged local authority, distinguishing itself from other sanitary providers with thorough advice and perfect realisation. Griftpark now has a beautiful toilet block with self-cleaning toilets. Disabled, male/female toilets, and an area with urinals… everything is available to visitors and residents of Utrecht. What a beautiful building!
‘This toilet facility was installed entirely to our satisfaction. The building is made of natural stone, so it perfectly matches the paving of the Rode Loper, the boulevard in Griftpark. It even adds something to the park. Patrick Horst was the point of contact from the Pop-Up Toilet Company, and shared his thoughts with every issue that arose, or solved them. At the City of Utrecht, we’re therefore very satisfied with this partnership’
Roelof Doedens, City of Utrecht Project Manager
